Green Schools

Green Schools is an international education programme that aims to make environmental awareness and action an intrinsic part of the life and ethos of the college. It also endeavours to develop responsible environmental attitudes both at home and in the wider community. The Green Flag is awarded to schools that complete the seven essential elements of the programme.

St. Declan’s Green Flags:

  • Reducing the amount of waste produced by the school
  • Improving energy efficiency
  • Water conservation
  • Promoting sustainable transport
  • Biodiversity
  • Global Citizenship (litter and waste)
  • Global Citizenship (energy)
  • Marine Environment
